The Art of Weddings

We vow to engage each of your senses in order to inspire you.

You are invited to attend our second annual celebration of the creativity and splendor of today's weddings. "The Art of Weddings" event is concurrent with MMoCA's Gallery Night.

Our casual evening affair, Friday, October 3, from 5pm until 8pm, will offer you the opportunity to meet two of the finest artists in their respective fields - Janet Nelson Kumar, bridal fashion designer, and Neil Kiekhofer, one of Front Room Photography's founders. (Due to a scheduling conflict, Neil will be unable to join us. You will be missed Neil!)

In addition to fine fashion and images, you will also be treated to the artistry of Rejuvenation Spa as they will complete the look of each of our live models with make-up and hair styles inspired by old Hollywood glamour. Speaking of live models, meet Erin Nycz, once our customer, now our friend and a favorite model who appears in many of our photos, including this one.

The mood of Premiere Couture will be enhanced and the models will be adorned with floral delights from Garden Laurels by Sager. But not just a feast for the eyes, the evening will also offer delicious cake from Creative Confections and hors d'oeuvres from Flemings Steakhouse to tantalize your taste buds and the smooth, enchanting sounds of musician David Flood, for the pleasure of your ears.

As if all of that were not enough, the event will also offer free gifts to the first 25 brides of 2009 and a chance for anyone who attends to win one of five $100 gift certificates!

So come this Friday evening to an event to remember, "The Art of Weddings."

Will your marriage be Fireproof?

It's been on my mind for quite some time that I would like to find a way for Premiere Couture to do more than just promote beautiful, memorable weddings but to also promote beautiful, lasting marriages. After all, that is the ultimate goal of every single one of my brides. While it would hopefully be obvious to anyone who meets Laura and me that marriage is very important to each of us, having the privilege of dressing a bride and her party for her wedding is a limited way to convey our true passion for strong marriages.

But I think I stumbled upon the first of hopefully many creative ideas to encourage you to make your wedding merely the beginning of a much longer, more fulfilling, more meaningful journey that is your marriage. Last night my husband and I went on a date to see the opening of the new movie Fireproof. It is an unapologetically Christian view of marriage that conveys a great deal of insight into what it takes to make it last through the worse of "for better or worse." After watching it we left feeling both thoughtful and thankful for knowing that we both understand what real love is. So far we have only been married seventeen great years and we have certainly seen hard times and I'm certain there will be more, but I am increasingly confident that we know the secret of genuine success. I think you might, too, after watching this movie.

Go see Fireproof yourself, bring your ticket stubs in and we'll give you a $50 gift certificate that can be used towards anything in the store, anytime and with very little restriction. Don't want to see the movie but maybe just poke at the ideas behind it? Visit FireproofMyMarriage.com.

Congratulations Calfa!

Laura and I were so pleased to have the privilege of dressing one of our very favorite photographers for her recent wedding. Calfa, you looked magnificent! Thank you for the honor you gave to us! Because of her honored status, there is an extensive collection of images from her wedding in Front Room's blog. You can tell that they think of Calfa as a treasured member of the Front Room family and no doubt she is.

Congratulations Calfa!

Light Brights

Our collection of homecoming/party/special occasion dresses is starting to round out a bit more with these fun, new, bright additions. They're totally easy to wear and come in around $100. How fun is that? Plus we've received two new colors in our newly popular and swingy surplice dress - shown in purple in the post below - but you'll have to come in to find out what they are! Happy Shopping!

Homecoming, Party and Special Occasion Dresses

Finally, I have photos of our lovely Kristen in some of our new arrivals - how cute is she! It was such a gorgeous day outside that Laura shot these prime pics for us while Kristen showed off not only our chic new dresses but our snappy shoe collection as well. Our new dresses range in price from just $87 to $165 yet they're so much fun you'll feel like you've spent twice as much! Shopping is fun again!

Chocolate chip cookies and Calfa

Tomorrow offers twin blessings: Laura's famous, home baked chocolate chip cookies for anyone shopping here at Premiere Couture and, even more wonderful, the wedding of one of our favorite photographers. Best wishes, Calfa! We hope your day is as memorable and beautiful as you are!

Congratulations Jennifer!

Jennifer has an undeniably appealing personality. Laura described her best when she said that she is "chic, creative & fun." It was our privilege to work with her and we were so grateful to be able to have a part in her beautiful wedding.

Congratulations Jennifer!

Monroe Street

We're constantly telling people how fantastic Monroe Street is and we tell our customers to set aside some time when they visit us to check out the rest of the street. Turns out we're not alone. Dean Robbins posted this ode to Monroe Street on The Daily Page in May and we just only learned of it.
