As You Wish

In continuation of our Celebrate Cinema series, Laura and I have been anxious to unveil the September Movie of the Month and it's special so we're not waiting until Tueseday. "The Princess Bride" - an all time favorite - in all of its quotableness (is that a word Mary?) and humor, is about everything we love in a good story - friendship, loyalty, sacrifice and at its heart, true love. So, as proof of our affection, we offer the As You Wish Sale. Save 10% on anything in the store, including bridal gowns, special orders and sale items. No exceptions! And if I am wrong, and I am never wrong, this will truly convey our love to all of our customers!

Fresh fashion and fatigued feet

Here at the AmericasMart in Atlanta Laura and I tirelessly scoured floor after floor of fashions from...everywhere...and we're certain that we found gems for all of our customers. One amazing dress after another, fabulous frock after fabulous frock - oh the torture, the sacrifice! No seriously, as far as a job goes, it doesn't really get much better than this. I'm posting a few of our finds, but you'll have to keep checking back here (or even better, in person)as our new designs roll in. We expect our prom (2010 will be truly fantastic!)to begin arriving mid-December. Can't wait!

The Wedding Singer

There is still time to take advantage of our Movie of the Month special for this month's movie "The Wedding Singer". In case you don't remember what it is - if you order your bridal gown during the month of August you will receive a gift certificate for your jewelry worth 10% of your gown. Awesome, right?

So, what is your favorite line from "The Wedding Singer"? I have found that Robbie's "Gee, you know that information... really would've been more useful to me yesterday" has been possibly the most often applicable line from a movie - ever.

Impress me with your movie knowledge and I may just send an awesome gift your way!

Just watching this trailer makes me laugh.

Time for a little ATL

Laura and I are leaving Saturday afternoon to visit the little town of Atlanta to do some party dress and Prom 2010 shopping - so fun! We'll be closed on Monday, August 24, since we'll still be there but we'll be open as scheduled on Wednesday, August 26.

I plan on updating the blog while I'm gone with some photos of new fashions that will be on their way to Premiere Couture, so check back!

Congratulations Sarah!

Sarah is is yet another perfect example of what I often say about our brides: she's equal parts beauty, intelligence, fun and grace. Married to a truly fortunate man, Jeremy, this past June, her photos tell a story of a beautiful day that marked the beginning of what will be a beautiful marriage. And while I don't have an image of the bridesmaids, they, too, were equally lovely and wonderful to work with. Congratulations Sarah and Jeremy!

Visit Mark Hawkin's blog to see more of Sarah's day in a fantastic slide show.

Congratulations Courtney!

At Premiere Couture we have the privilege of helping brides with a wide range of desires and needs for their bridal attire and it's particularly rewarding to help someone find the dress they never thought they would. Such is the case with Courtney who is a sparkling, vivacious and gracious bride that needed something just a little different. Her smile (and those beautiful legs!) tell at least part of the story and we so appreciate her sharing these images with us. Congratulations and thank you, Courtney!

Rose and Travis

Rose and Travis, your entire wedding party was a pleasure to work with, you all looked amazingly beautiful and the day looked absolutely marvelous! Congratulations, and thank you for allowing Premiere Couture to be part of your day!

The beautiful photographs are courtesy of Pierre's Portrait Art. Look for him on Facebook and view dozens of beautiful images from Rose and Travis's wedding!

Amanda and Zane

Contrary to popular belief, Laura and I do not get the opportunity to attend many weddings so it is a genuine treat when we get to, especially when it's a beloved nephew as the groom. So it was this past Saturday that I found myself at the Platteville Country Club witnessing the ceremony of my nephew Zane to my now official niece-in-law Amanda. The day was beautiful as were the bride and groom. And because they chose Front Room Photography to capture their day, I felt absolutely no pressure to take any photos. I did manage a couple for the purposes of sharing them here and my Facebook page. Congratulations Amanda and Zane and thank you for letting me and Premiere Couture be a part of your day.

Movie of the Month: The Wedding Singer

Being children of the 80's ourselves, The Wedding Singer was a no-brainer for our Celebrate Cinema theme. Laura and I both still laugh at Adam Sandler and think that Drew Barrymore is at her most charming. Catch up with Robbie and Julia and when you do, see if you notice her ever-present necklace. It's one of the first things that comes to mind when Laura and I think of this movie so this month's special is all about jewelry! When you order your gown during the month of August, you will receive a gift certificate worth 10% of the value of your gown to use towards your jewelry - possibly even that necklace or bracelet that just may become your signature piece!
