Prom update
It's been too long since we gave you any more details about our fantastic prom collection and we've been hearing some things that make me think it's time. First of all, you don't think you have to drive all the way to Chicago and pay five or six hundred dollars plus nearly 10% sales tax for an exquisite and unique prom dress do you? Of course you don't! You owe it to yourself (and your mom or dad or whoever may be purchasing your gown if you don't) to check us out first! You wouldn't believe how many timely and costly trips to Chicago we've already saved so many prom shoppers. We have a terrific collection, the ability to special order the just-right design and have even more designs arriving this week!
Did you know that our prom collection has some really amazingly priced dresses in it? All of these designs range in price from $170 to $280!

Janet Nelson Kumar and other events...
This past weekend we had the distinct pleasure of once again hosting a Janet Nelson Kumar trunk show. Janet and her collection were fun and inspiring, as usual, and truly the epitome of easy elegance. Want to take a second (or first) look? No problem! Janet is keeping her collection in our boutique for an extra week. Also, in our continuing effort to get you up close and personal with the best designers in the industry we'll be hosting a visit from Caroline DeVillo at the end of this month. Caroline's flair for making simple sophistication seem effortless will be at your disposal.
Our Celebrate Cinema movie of the month in April is "The Princess Diaries" and, as you would expect, our special of the month will be all about tiaras (and veils) so we'll kick the month off with a visit from Sara Gabriel, veil designer extraordinaire. You will not want to miss the opportunity to work with this dynamic designer!
Our event also featured exquisite arrangements of fresh flowers from Garden Laurels and positively scrumptious cake from Creative Confections.

Lynn Lugo: New Designs, Fresh Classics and New Fabric

We've received many of our new samples from one of our favorite designers, Lynn Lugo, and they're fantastic. We finally have dresses in her scrumptious new silk fabric, the aptly named "crispy shantung", her improved strapless designs and her perfectly pocketed pleated skirts.Along with the new, we've also brought in some fresh examples of some of Lynn's clean and classic charmuese designs in rich and fun colors. (Click on either picture for a larger view.) Plus there's even more, like a tasteful new jacket that's just right for our stylish mothers-of-the-day and more than a dozen new sashes to play with!
An Ideal Husband = An Ideal Special
I have so many favorite lines in this movie! What is yours? Haven't seen it or even heard of it? If a mix of wit, panache, beautiful costumes and a thoroughly satisfying ending intrigues you, I recommend you give "An Ideal Husband" a try. (And then you'll be ready for some fun trivia!)
This month's special is, of course, all about the men: Book your tuxes during the month of March and you will receive a $100 Target gift card! Contact us for more info.

Milwaukee's Magnificent Brides
We had the opportunity to showcase our fashions on four beautiful models, Jackie, Lindsay, Heidi and Libby, and they carried them off beautifully. Thank you ladies!
It was a wonderful experience and it was obvious to us that those attending the show felt the same. Speaking of those attending the show, Laura and I want to remind all of you who visited us at the show that you have the entire month of March to use your $100 gift certificate.
We look forward to meeting many of you again at our shop soon!

Lynn Lugo Trunk Show!!
We've received our Lynn Lugo trunk show and as always, they do no disappoint. Join us this weekend as we say farewell to "27 Dresses" Month - this is the last week to save an extra $20 on your bridesmaid dresses.
And speaking of "27 Dresses" our last question: In the movie, Jane's favorite part of a wedding ceremony was when the groom caught sight of his bride for the first time. When everyone turns to look at the bride, she prefers to look at the groom. What is your favorite part of the wedding ceremony and why?

Small town charm
Laura and I are two small town girls; both born and raised and now living in Edgerton. In fact, one reason we love our Monroe Street location is because even though it is in the midst of a much larger city than our home town, it has the feel of a tight knit community. We thoroughly enjoy working in the rich and varied culture of Madison and equally appreciate the simple charm of small town living. Many mini meccas such as ours have little known claims to fame and Edgerton is no exception. One of them is that it is a childhood home of Sterling North, author of the children's classic "Rascal." The Sterling North Society, in an effort to fund the upkeep of his childhood home, hosts the Sterling North Society Talent Show each year, this year being the eighteenth. The talent show offers just what you would expect of such a show and yet much more. It was truly two and half hours well spent. Of course, I admit a bit of a bias as three of the twenty acts were family. So I offer to you those three acts. First, Manifold, a young band comprised of my two eldest sons, two of my nephews and two of their good friends. Second is my perpetually entertaining father, Jim Hodges, aka Tennessee Jim, and the third is my very talented nephew, David Flood, of whom I have posted previous performances. I hope you enjoy!

Movie of the Month: 27 Dresses
It's time again to Celebrate Cinema! This month's movie "27 Dresses" is a celebration of marriage with a little bad fashion thrown in. We love Jane's unwavering belief that marriage is beautiful and can endure. And we admire her devotion to her friends and their dreams as she quietly helps them in any way she is able - including wearing what best reflects the bride - never even entertaining the idea that she should have any say in their day. As we toast Jane's loyalty to her ideals and her friends, we are offering $20 off bridesmaid dresses ordered in February. If you are a Premiere Couture bride, the $20 savings is in addition to the 10% Lifetime Loyalty Savings.
And here's to proving that there are stylish and tasteful bridesmaid dresses out there for those selfless and loyal bridesmaids.
Question of the week: Which dress would your deem the most "awesomely bad" of the 27 that Katherine Heigl's Jane had to wear in the movie and why?
Responses need to be in by Friday, February 13. Laura and I will choose our favorite answer and the winner will receive a mystery prize!
We will celebrate the close of this month's movie by hosting a Lynn Lugo trunk show. You'll have the opportunity to see the finest collection of all silk, customizable bridesmaid dresses made in the United States. Make your appointment today!
