Trendy Tuxes

Grooms today want to have options just like brides.  Tuxes are now available in shades of grey, tan and brown as well as black and white.  Tuxes can have no buttons or they can have 6.  Shirts come in white, ivory and black and with and without pleats.  Coats can be a slim fit or in an athletic cut.

Tuxedos vs. Suits. 

 What's the difference?  It's all about the satin.  Traditionally tuxedos have full satin lapels, satin button covers and satin stripes on the pants.  Can I rent a suit instead of a tuxedo for a wedding?  With today's changing style/fit trends, tuxedos are beginning to look more like suits and less like tuxes such as narrower lapels with less satin, pants without satin stripes, lighter fabrics and a slimmer more modern fit and look.  As to whether or not you should rent a tuxedo or a suit for a wedding, it really depends on the setting.  If you are going for a formal or semi-formal wedding, you will definitely want to do a classic tux or a more modern tux.  If you have a destination wedding or a casual wedding, then suits are certainly acceptable.

It's a hopping time for tuxedos!

It's been a busy season for tuxedos here at Premiere Couture! We sent out lots of great looking men this weekend, had a fun visit from Jim DuBois of DuBois Formalwear and had some super fun guys in shopping for an upcoming wedding. We love tuxedos!

This is Mark. He obviously has the same lively, inner spark of fun that his sister Meryl, our lovely bride, has. I was just framing up a photo of our new vest panel display while Mark and his nephews were working with Joel on tuxedos when he turned around and gave me this great smile. I had to snap it!

A new face at Premiere....sort of

Meet Joel. He's our new Tuxedo Facilitator! Under the tutelage of Jim DuBois and our own formalwear maven, Laura, he's currently learning everything he needs to know to make your wedding day run smoothly and look wedding album worthy! And while he's technically a new employee, he was truly created for the position as he is my (Rosemary) son! He has literally spent his entire life around weddings - starting in a baby seat right by my side at work way back in the beginning days of Premiere Couture. Now he's ready to make his mark on the masculine side of the business by ensuring that every detail of our tuxedo weddings are attended to and looked after. If you've already booked your wedding with DuBois and Premiere Couture you'll be hearing from him soon. And if you haven't, you're going to want to come in and meet him and get things for your own wedding rolling now!

An Ideal Husband = An Ideal Special

I know it's a little late, but finally I am officially introducing our movie of the month as we continue to Celebrate Cinema: Oscar Wilde's "An Ideal Husband." I love dialogue-heavy movies and this is certainly that. Rupert Everett is superb as Lord Goring who appears to hold his fellow human beings somewhat in contempt but actually loves them true.

I have so many favorite lines in this movie! What is yours? Haven't seen it or even heard of it? If a mix of wit, panache, beautiful costumes and a thoroughly satisfying ending intrigues you, I recommend you give "An Ideal Husband" a try. (And then you'll be ready for some fun trivia!)
