New Nicole Miller, Vera Wang and Donna Morgan

You know that Vera Wang and Nicole Miller can satisfy the fashionista in each of us and these new designs show us why!

Nicole Miller offers this spectacular new gown in her signature stretch metal taffeta.

Vera Wang brings the sophistication of matte jersey and the feminine appeal of organza to her maids collection. Yum!

Donna Morgan's fresh and wearable party dresses like this cute little number in violet silk are sure to inspire - look out for more dresses from this designer coming soon!

New arrivals from Vera Wang!

It's been a little while since Laura and I have felt inspired to update our Vera Wang's Maids collection because we really already had her best designs. But for 2010 we found the designs absolutely Premiere Couture worthy. Our first two gowns of the collection arrived last week and have already gotten a warm reception. So if you're ready for an edgier fashion for your bridesmaids or mothers of the day, you'll want to investigate these designs for yourself.

Lazy Days of Summer - Vera Wang Sale

Just a reminder that Vera Wang's "Lazy Days of Summer" promotion ends August 30. Now's your chance to save 10%; 20% if you're a Premiere Couture bride.

An introduction and playing dress up

I would like to introduce Ryne, our new intern. He is a junior in high school and aspires to one day be a fashion designer. You can see some of his beautiful sketches on his self-created website. One day, when he's on Project Runway, he'll be telling people about the quirky ladies at a little bridal boutique in Madison that saw promise in his designs.

Laura and I have a unique business relationship in that we have been close friends since elementary school - a recipe for disaster in business according to most. But our friendship and mutual respect have only served to strengthen the business side of our relationship. Now Laura and I have daughters that are the same age and they are great friends. They joined us at the store today and were playing dress up within about five minutes of the door being opened. There are some perks to having moms with a bridal shop!
Anna, Laura's daughter, is sweet in Lynn Lugo's lemonade dupioni and Marlie, Rosemary's daughter, is feeling pretty in Vera Wang. And, of course, they're both loving the Christina Garcia headpieces.

New Vera Wang Arrivals

I don't know about you, but I am impatient to see some green out there! Since that seems a little slow in coming, I thought it a good time to focus on what's fresh inside and here at Premiere Couture that is definitely Vera Wang. Laura and I are finding relief from winter's end doldrums with her fashiony cocktail dresses and her sophisticated formals. I've focused mostly on the cocktail dresses in this post, but look for more floor length designs in the next couple of days. So until all of April's showers finally bring those May flowers, come and check out the fresh blooms here!

Lynn Lugo, Grace Shoes, Front Room and Vera Wang

Lots happening at Premiere Couture...

Of course this weekend is the Lynn Lugo trunk show so we put Abby, our ever-impressive new employee in one of Lynn's freshly-arrived frocks. "Model" was not in the job description when we hired Abby so we greatly appreciate her willingness to participate in our blog.

Don't miss the chance to win that cute Marc Jacobs clutch - shop this weekend!

We've received some beautiful new silk shoes from Grace: adorable peep-toe "Chelsea" and twinkling strappy sandal "Elena." Anyone who has stepped foot into our boutique is immediately greeted with our shoe adoration - we have the best selection of special occasion and bridal footwear that you'll find.

Front Room recently blogged about The Veil magazine's newest issue. We haven't actually laid eyes on it but we're excited because Neil posted one of his favorite photos from it which happens to be our "Tandie" from California designer Amy Kuschel. It's absolutely breathtaking Neil!

We're starting to receive our 2008 collection of new Vera Wang Maids. Her designs are very "fashiony" this season and feature defining details like top-stitching, belts, high necklines, short hemlines, box pleats, interesting color combinations and handy pockets. Laura and I both agreed that Abby looked particularly fetching in the little Audrey Hepburn number in spruce green.

Vera Wang Maids Event This Weekend

Vera Wang brings a uniqueness to maids-wear that no one else does and we will be showcasing her 2008 collection this Friday and Saturday, February 22 & 23, during our Vera Wang Trunk Show. We weren't able to attend New York Bridal Market in October so this will not only be your first opportunity to see this collection in person, it will be ours as well! We're excited by the freshness that has recently made it's way into Vera Wang's collection and eagerly anticipate your enthusiastic response.

Vera Wang Maids in combination with Badgley Mischka and Lynn Lugo makes our bridesmaid collection the most undeniably fashionable choice in Madison. Your bridesmaids won't be disappointed!

Bridal Show 2008 Recap

What a busy, fantastic weekend! Laura and I had the opportunity to meet so many amazing women at the Wedding Planner & Guide Bridal Show. I am confident that Premiere Couture brings something different to Madison's bridal landscape and we were happy to meet the brides who were looking for that difference. We received a lot of positive feedback on the designs in our booth and on the runway, but I think my favorite comment was made to Laura, it went something like this: "I'm a strange bride because I'm not really very excited about wedding dress shopping, but your store is the one store that I can get excited about shopping at." What an awesome compliment!

Another pleasure that we have during the show is getting a chance to rub elbows with other wedding professionals. It's a once or twice a year thing that we enjoy. We always look forward to chatting with our very favorite photographers from Front Room! You all need to stop by our store and see the absolutely beautiful photo art book they gave us featuring one of our brides and models, Erin, in a "trash the dress" (Front Room prefers to call it "Art of The Dress" and we concur) photo session that they shot at dawn in September in Lake Michigan. Some of the photos already occupy coveted space in our "gallery" but the book is a wonderful way to enjoy even more of their artistry.

We also loved chatting with our neighbors, Coliseum Bar. It's nice to have such friendly people next to you at show since we're standing in each other's company for thirteen hours! Other standouts were the gals at the Kalahari Resort, Beauty Blossoms, Bellezza Studio and Captured Moments as well as Paul Toepfer and his wife. We hope they all had a successful show!
Photos aren't allowed during the show so I snapped these during set up. The designers represented are as follows (from left to right): Caroline DeVillo, Badgley Mischka, Justina McCaffrey, Vera Wang, Amy Kuschel, Lynn Lugo, Janet Nelson Kumar, Badgley Mischka and LeaAnn Belter. Luke was along for the whole weekend with his Aunt Toni on baby patrol. Thank you Toni!!!!
A little different angle so you can better see the new Badgley Mishka bridesmaid dress that got so much attention this weekend. To view a larger image, just click on either photo.
