Reception venue: Sugarland's Barn and catered by the
Old Feed Mill
What can I say, our day was absolutely perfect. I'm sure
some people might find that nauseating, but there really is no other
word to describe it. To be honest the whole day was a blur (as many
people warned) and flowed seamlessly from one thing into the next. The
most intimate and memorable part for me is when Andrew finally saw me
for the first time as I was walking down the aisle. We decided to not
have our photos taken together before the ceremony so that we could
share that experience together. The moment our eyes locked, we lost it!
The tears started flowing and all I remember during the entire ceremony
is quietly whispering "breath" to each other to prevent us from
hyperventilating. Apparently our tears started a trend and everyone,
even those that say they don't cry at weddings, were touched by the
moment. Every detail of our wedding had "us" written all over it —
including Andrew's homebrew that he made for the reception. There really
isn't anything I would've changed. It was perfect.
Advice to those getting engaged: Wedding planning is
overwhelming and it really does consume your life from the time you
start planning to the end of the big day. Encourage each other and make
sure each of your voices are heard throughout the process. I guarantee
that all the hard work you pour into planning the big day will make it
even more special than you can imagine. Let your love shine!
