Merry Christmas!!

Laura and I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas! This is a very special time of year for us and our families as we are continually awed by the sacrifice Christ made in becoming a human in order to open the way for us to know his love and forgiveness.

May your lives be blessed this Christmas!!

**please note that Premiere Couture will be closed to enjoy time with our families until Thursday, December 27, when normal business hours will resume.

Lea Ann Belter Trunk Show

The Lea Ann Belter collection has arrived for the trunk show today and tomorrow and Laura and I find it very intriguing. She uses unique embellishments, beautiful draping, light silk fabrics and lace to create designs that you will find delightfully different and worth braving the weather for. Laura snapped a few pictures that I've posted here. Stop in this weekend and help us decide which dresses are worthy of our permanent collection.

Prom 2008 - No Kidding!

Speaking of the passage of time - I can hardly believe that it's time again for the glamor, glitter and gleam of prom and yet we have received the first dozen or so designs for 2008. We've never seen a wider array of color choices - from eye-popping pinks, greens and blues to the sophisticated palette of bronze, burgundy and beige - and we can't wait to see the reaction they receive. The gowns I show here also lend themselves to the more mature so if you have a fun holiday party that needs a little sparkle, you may want to consider one for yourself!

Where Has Time Gone?

Laura and I decided at the close of Premiere Couture's first decade of existance to move it to Madison and here we are, three years into the second decade already! Our third anniversary was ushered in with snow, rain and cold but our thoughts were warmed with the amazing women we've met along the way and the ones who braved the weather for the Christina Garcia trunk show. Thank you to all!!

Simply Put, Awe-Inspiring

The collection we received from Christina Garcia is incredible. Katey immediately wondered aloud how we would ever choose what to add to our permanent collection. Excellent question!! While it is always a challenge to narrow down our choices, this year is unique because we will hopefully have the input of many of you out there. I will post some pictures later today of the more than 140 pieces of truly heirloom quality jewelry, hair art and veils to entice you out into the cold!!

Update: I've added photos, but here's something I've learned: taking great jewelry pictures is really hard and, especially by me, yet to be achieved! So when the talents at Front Room just point their cameras and magic happens - it really is magic!

Christina Garcia - Sara Gabriel - Accessories Galore!!!

This weekend is the long anticipated Christina Garcia trunk show. Truth be told, the main purpose of the trunk show is for Laura and me to choose our stock pieces for 2008 since we were unable to view Christina's collection in New York. We are both excited by this unique opportunity to have your input when making our choices. Even if you have already made your accessory choices - jewelry, headpiece, veil - stop in and look at the collection and give us your opinion.

Some of you know that we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of designs from our newest designer, Sara Gabriel. Most of our order should be here on Friday!! We can't wait to show you her unique interpretation of bridal accessory art.

Between Christina Garcia and Sara Gabriel, Premiere Couture will have the most beautiful, hip and stylish accessory collection in Wisconsin. Come in and see for yourself if you have any doubts.

YAY!! They're here!!

UPS finally managed to get our Lynn Lugo trunk show dresses here! We get to keep them through this weekend so that those of you who wanted to see them will now have a chance.

Needless to say, the selection that we can offer for your viewing pleasure this week is phenomenal!! The photo below represent just a part of what we have and you can see the colors are amazing. No designer offers a color pallette as thorough as Lynn and once you see them you'll find yourself contemplating persimmon, celery or flame for your maids instead of flat, boring traditional colors. It is so much fun to see our brides' eyes widen when they see the colors and fabrics and realize they can make choices that reflect their true selves.

On another note, we were surprised to discover that Lynn has added a few more bridal designs and we really like them. They're all silk (of course) and made in the US (also of course) plus they're very affordable besides being beautiful. Think Hollywood glamour, sandy beaches or small intimate settings.

Looking for a fun challenge? We're hiring!

We are looking for a part time employee to start immediately. If you are interested, call us at 608-255-1921 or stop by during our normal business hours. We look forward to meeting you!!

It's a Matter of Good New/Bad News

Well, UPS failed to correct their error and we didn't receive the major portion of our Lynn Lugo trunk show designs. The good news is that once they get here - which should be Monday - we'll be able to hold onto them for an extra week. If you couldn't shop with us on this busy Thanksgiving weekend, then those lemons just became lemonade! Call us to set up your appointment!

Thanksgiving Greetings; Lynn Lugo Trunk Show Update and Previw

I hope everyone had a joyous Thanksgiving filled with gratitude and appreciation for this great nation in which we are so fortunate to live. I believe I can speak for both Laura and me in saying that we are grateful for God who gives meaning to our lives and our families and friends that fill them with love. We would also like to thank all of our customers, our new employee Katey and fellow professionals for enriching our lives at Premiere Couture.

Friday brings about our highly anticipated Lynn Lugo trunk show. While we hope UPS will deliver a box which contained about half (70) of the designs we expect (they failed to do so on Wednesday) the dresses we have already received are worth your visit. We snapped a few shots of some of the new arrivals to give you a preview but hope to have you join us to enjoy them personally.

Happy post-Thanksgiving shopping!!

Janet Nelson Kumar sneak peak

Janet just sent us a little sneak peak of 2008 and we think they are exquisite! I'll be posting some snapshots with the dresses on our very own Katey shortly!

Update: Here they are! (I do have photos from Janet that are better than mine, but I just think there's something to be said for seeing them in our environment. If you would like to see them, just let me know.)

Fashion Heaven on Earth - "Angelic Paradisium"

Justina McCaffrey obviously believes that not only do angels exist, they are beautiful, soft, enduringly classic, smart and have a commanding presence. Isn't that what you want your bridal gown to say about you? There are still appointments available for this weekend's trunk show for her bridal collection "Angelic Paradisium" so don't hesitate to come in and dress your inner angel.

Life Imitates Blog

Just last week I mentioned our Katey Angelic as she modeled gowns from Justina McCaffrey's "Angelic Paradisium" collection and then she walks in to work today dressed as an angel. Katja stopped by to show off her Biker Babe look and I just loved the contrast of the mother/daughter duo and had to blog it!

Tip Off With Bo

Laura and I just returned from an evening of fashion and basketball - the UW Badger Booster fund raiser - Tip Off With Bo. We were both excited when we were approached months ago to provide fashions for the runway show and it was really neat to see it all come together at this good-natured event. I tried taking some photos of the runway show but was generally unsuccessful - below is my best effort. However, Laura snapped a picture of all of the models - wives of support staff - and you can see that everyone looked amazing! We had several Lynn Lugos and two Badgley Mischkas on stage and they were very well received, but the real show stopper was "Citrine" by Janet Nelson Kumar. It didn't hurt that "Citrine" was paired with a $50,000 necklace from the Diamond Center.

The silent auction is always a big hit during this event and we can't wait to find out who the successful bidder was on the Lynn Lugo dress we donated to their silent auction.

As a final note, I just want to thank Laura for all of her effort tonight as I basically acted only as chauffeur - your continuing commitment to make us the best bridal boutique is totally appreciated.

Katey Angelic

The other day I was trying to put together a reminder postcard about our awesome Justina McCaffrey trunk next weekend when I realized I didn't have any photos of the "Angelic Paradisium" collection that would work in print. So Laura and I thought since we already have some of the dresses we would just throw one on Katey and snap a couple of pictures ourselves. Considering that we had no special lighting, a simple 3.1 megapixel point and shoot digital camera and no real photographic skills, we were very pleased with how incredible beautiful Katey ended up looking in "Jaime" - now that's a sign of great design!

Justina McCaffrey Trunk Show

We are really excited about our Justina McCaffrey trunk show coming up November 2 & 3 featuring the "Angelic Paradisium" collection - one of her best ever. We have already received four of the gowns - Jaime, Bernadine, Joanna and Angelic - all of which are absolutely beautiful, signature-look Justinas. Once we receive the entire collection we will decide which of them are worthy of being added to our permanent collection and we would love to know what you think.

New Designer for 2008 at Premiere Couture

Laura and I were so excited to see the collection of unique hair accessories and veils from Sara Gabriel that we both instantly knew she would be a perfect addition to our elite group of designers. Sara herself is so fresh and energetic - as are her designs - that she would make the perfect subject of her own reality show on cable. I've posted a couple of pics of her fixing some of her creations into Rachel's (one of Sara's cohorts) glorious red hair. Everything looks great in Rachel's hair! We should start receiving the new pieces in several weeks and we'll also be hosting a trunk show - possibly with Sara herself!

Exciting Caroline DeVillo Event!

It's a bit early to announce, but I just can't help myself. November 16 & 17 we are hosting a Caroline DeVillo trunk show and while that in and of itself is neat, what will be really great is the Thursday night before the trunk show. We are going to have a runway show featuring Caroline's Spring 2008 collection with Caroline herself acting as emcee! We're in the midst of making all of the arrangements (we still need a model or two if you're interested) and invitations will go out in a week or two. If you want to make sure you're invited, please e-mail me.

"The Art of Weddings" is a success!!

Thank you to everyone who attended and assited with our event - it was a huge success!! I was unable to attend (and completely bummed by that), but Laura kept it all together and when it wasn't busy she snapped a few photos for us which I have posted here. I want to specially thank Katey, Katja, Liz and Beth for lending us their beauty for the evening. Thank you to the other businesses whose contribution made for a memorable evening: Front Room Photography, Rejuvenation Spa, Fleming's Steakhouse, The Flower Market and David Flood.

Front Room's photos look spectacular. They are part of our permanent collection so stop by and see them any time!

Our beautiful "live mannequins" drew a lot of attention!

David Flood did a wonderful job creating a pleasant atmosphere with his original guitar compositions. He's available to play music for your ceremony; you can call us for more information.

Katey, our new employee was not only a model but one of the artists! She created the sandwich board signs for us. You can look forward to seeing more of her signs in the future.

Beth, Katey, Liz and Katja

Even Beth's dog knows beauty when he sees it!
