New York, new bridal, new party, new new new!!!

So much has been going on at Premiere Couture; time to play catch up! Now if you follow us on Facebook, most of this will be a review but with some additional details. First, Laura and I enjoyed a very successful, exhausting New York International Bridal Week last week. It is always so fantastic to reconnect with our designers and they certainly all wowed us with their newest creations. After reviewing each of their collections, Laura and I remain convinced that Premiere Couture represents the perfect mix of designers and we are excited to continue to feature the designs of Lea-Ann Belter, Janet Nelson Kumar, Caroline DeVillo, Robert Bullock, Nicole Miller, Lynn Lugo, Sara Gabriel and Christina Garcia. We've added just one new designer to the mix as Robert Bullock's design partner, Steven Birnbaum, has launched a bridesmaid collection that we will carry as soon as it hits stores. Along with new bridesmaids, we will also be offering a new line of shoes - Foot Petals -the company famous for foot solutions for killer shoes. Their new shoes feature all of their most popular cushions built right into the shoe - perfect! Of course we are also offering their most popular cushions - in fact, they've already arrived at the store and await your sore feet!

While we were in New York and new bridal design arrived from Robert Bullock. It is a soft, luxurious lace gown that is so flattering and so comfortable you won't want to take it off once you put it on.

We've received new party dresses from two more new designers to Premiere Couture, Suzi Chin and Eva Franco, plus a couple of great new dresses from Donna Morgan who is already very comfortably ensconced in our store.

And now for all of the photos!

New and unforgettable in silk taffeta from Lea-Ann Belter!

Janet Nelson Kumar and a new classic in beautiful Italian lace!

Congratulations David & Audrey!

As many of you already know, I love to feature photos of our brides and grooms as captured on their wedding day. I never ever get tired of looking at them! Today I have the special privilege of sharing wedding photos of my nephew David and his new wife Audrey. The images were taken by Neil of Front Room Photography and I cannot express how pleased I am with them. Actually, Neil has now photographed the weddings of two of my nephews. I see a growing- and very awesome - trend here! I can't link to their photos yet, but check out the photos on their blog.

Amanda and Zane

Contrary to popular belief, Laura and I do not get the opportunity to attend many weddings so it is a genuine treat when we get to, especially when it's a beloved nephew as the groom. So it was this past Saturday that I found myself at the Platteville Country Club witnessing the ceremony of my nephew Zane to my now official niece-in-law Amanda. The day was beautiful as were the bride and groom. And because they chose Front Room Photography to capture their day, I felt absolutely no pressure to take any photos. I did manage a couple for the purposes of sharing them here and my Facebook page. Congratulations Amanda and Zane and thank you for letting me and Premiere Couture be a part of your day.

Movies of the Month: Princess Diaries

As you know, our Celebrate Cinema movie of the month is actually two movies: The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. Laura and I wanted April to be all about headpieces and veils and we couldn't think of better tiara movies than these! While Anne Hathaway sports some amazing sparkle in both movies, we know you're a bit more subdued so instead we offer fun, tasteful and elegant designs from Sara Gabriel and Christina Garcia.

Question of the week: What is your favorite movie with a great tiara, headpiece or veil? Post a comment with your answer and Laura and I will choose a winner of a $50 gift certificate toward the headpiece or veil of your choice.

Also, this month's special is the most valuable one yet! When you order your bridal gown during The Princess Diaries month you will receive a gift certificate worth 20% (10% for each movie!) toward your headpiece and/or veil! For example, if you order a Nicole Miller bridal gown for $595, you will receive a gift certificate for $119 toward your veil and/or headpiece. If you order a Premiere Couture gown for $1350 you'll receive a gift certificate for $270, an Amy Kuschel for $2900, you'll receive a gift certificate for $580 - I'm sure you get the picture and the picture is sweet! (In fact, I'm sure I heard a "Shut up!" out there.) It's the perfect time to order your gown and spoil yourself with amazing accessories for your hair but times up on April 30 so don't delay!

We congratulate Kate and Kate

Thanks to Molly Michel of Mthree Studio, we can share with you some gorgeous photos of two brides that we were fortunate enough to work with earlier this year, Kate D. in her beautiful and sophisticated bridal gown and Kate B. in her gorgeous Christina Garcia hair art. Mthree Studio is new to us and this is our preferred method to be introduced to new photographers - through the wonderful experiences of our brides. Thank you Molly, and congratulations Kate D. and Kate B.!

An introduction and playing dress up

I would like to introduce Ryne, our new intern. He is a junior in high school and aspires to one day be a fashion designer. You can see some of his beautiful sketches on his self-created website. One day, when he's on Project Runway, he'll be telling people about the quirky ladies at a little bridal boutique in Madison that saw promise in his designs.

Laura and I have a unique business relationship in that we have been close friends since elementary school - a recipe for disaster in business according to most. But our friendship and mutual respect have only served to strengthen the business side of our relationship. Now Laura and I have daughters that are the same age and they are great friends. They joined us at the store today and were playing dress up within about five minutes of the door being opened. There are some perks to having moms with a bridal shop!
Anna, Laura's daughter, is sweet in Lynn Lugo's lemonade dupioni and Marlie, Rosemary's daughter, is feeling pretty in Vera Wang. And, of course, they're both loving the Christina Garcia headpieces.
