Everybody's pinning and so are we!

After months of hearing about Pinterest I've finally joined. After loving it I decided Premiere Couture needs to pin too! We've focused on pinning our favorite dresses, but we also have cute hairstyles, videos, decor ideas and more. Check us out! But be careful, all this pinning is addictive.

Best of the 2012 Oscars

Watching this year's Academy Awards was, dare I say it, a bit boring. There was no "WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!" moment or even a silly mismatched shoe incident ala Helena Bonham Carter. Just lovely dresses in classic colors. A little ho hum for my tastes as this Hollywood where an awful choice gets you press for weeks. We still talk about Jennifer Lopez's dress which was held in place by Fashion Tape. All that being said here is Premiere Couture's take on the Best of the 2012 Academy Awards....drum roll please!

Laura's Picks:

1. Natalie Portman - Everyone knows I love polka dots. They are fun and flirty. On my grandmother's wedding day, 82 years ago she wore a red dress with black polka dots. I even have a swatch of the material to remind me of her. Natalie's dress was easy, young and I loved it!

2. Judy Greer - I don't think fashion comes as easily to comedians (note, Tina Fey) so I was shocked to see her hit a home run. She has never looked better.

3. Milla Jovovich - There was LOTS of white last night, but her's was the best.

4. Penelope Cruz - Off the shoulder with yards of fabric, very Audrey Hepburn.

5. Glenn Close - You have got to hand it to her. She's 64 and looks absolutely amazing. I loved the pairing of a tuxedo coat with her strapless gown. CHIC!

Joel's Picks:

1. Kermet The Frog

2. George Clooney

3. Christian Bale

4. Nat Faxon

5. Asghar Farhadi

Andrea's Picks:

1. Kelly Osbourne

2. Milla Jovovich

3. Kristin Wiig

4. Octavia Spencer

Anna's Picks:

1. Busy Phillips - Love the pink shoes!

2. Michelle Williams

3. Natalie Portman

4. Penelope Cruz

Oscar Fashions

While I was watching the Oscars last night I kept having deja vu. Let me know if you agree.

Tomorrow we'll have our best and worst of the 2012 Oscars. Who are you looking forward to seeing on the Red Carpet? I'm looking forward to seeing what the cast of "The Help" is wearing tonight. I think they have all been best dressed this award season.

New silk charmeuse designs from Lynn Lugo

We absolutely adore the new silk charmeuse designs that we just received from Lynn Lugo. They are so fresh, fashionable and fun to wear (Andrea says so!) that we just love them. The flutter sleeves, ruffles, pleated skirts and trendy details all add up to super fun!

Market Trends

We've had some time to distill all of the information that we took in while at New York International Bridal Market. While the following images don't tell the whole story of the many trends represented at market, Laura and I agree that these are some of the most important. And as you'll notice, we could've shown some in more than one category. What are your thoughts?

Full skirts with clean lines

Eureka by Amy Kuschel is ethereal tulle with a touch of sparkle
From Caroline DeVillo's ID collection, Kate bodice with gathered ball gown skirt.
Lucille by Caroline DeVillo is finished with a narrow belt and a touch of sparkle.
Annie by Janet Nelson Kumar can also come in a short length.
Mia by Janet Nelson Kumar is shown here in tulle but ours will be made with silk organza instead.

Trumpet/mermaid interpreted in a plethora of fabrics

Annabelle by Lea-Ann Belter is silk dupioni with French lace applique.
Robert Bullock's lace trumpet features a well placed satin band and bow.
Filmore by Amy Kuschel is in silk taffeta and is also available in matte taffeta.
Pearl by Amy Kuschel is a Heirloom English Rose lace trumpet with a stunning keyhole back.
Larkin by Amy Kuschel is shown in silk taffeta but ours will arrive in matte taffeta.
Nicole Miller's extremely affordable silk faille trumpet gown.
After Six offers this pea de soie gown with flower detail, also intensely affordable.

Texture and tiers

Laura and I easily agreed that Janell Berte's Fantasia was our favorite gown at market.

The fabric of silk organza swatches in Delight was first introduced by Janell Berte in 2002. She was ahead of her time!
Buttercup by Janet Nelson Kumar is whimsical and light. Shown here in a short length, we ordered ours as a full length gown.
Juniper by Amy Kuschel uses ruching and tiers in silk organza to create texture.
Avia by Lea-Ann Belter uses ruffles of silk organza and lace to create memorable drama.
Robert Bullock's strapless ruched taffeta design also looks phenomenal with a sparkly belt.

Romantic lace and organza
Janell Berte's Faustine is in softly gathered Chantilly lace and silk organza.
High Society by Amy Kuschel with it's ball gown skirt could have easily been in another category, but her fabrication is so romantic that we put her with the lace and organza.
Love Story by Amy Kuschel is more softness and romance yet her tiers could have put her in the texture category.
IngridX by Lea-Ann Belter could have joined her friends in the trumpet category, but again the fabrication wins us over to the romantic side.
Robert Bullock gave us a classic silhouette in organza and lace.

Thanks for wading through this long, but hopefully informative, post! Now you'll have to come in and see for yourself that 2012 is going to be an amazing year!
