8 Tips to Accessorizing Your Gown

1.  Wear what you love.  Love big earrings but worry they are wrong with your dress?  Go for it.  If it’s right for you it will be right for your day.

2.  Jewelry doesn’t have to match.  Your necklace and earrings don’t have to look like they came as a set.   Also,  your jewelry doesn’t have to be the exact shade of ivory as your dress.  Slightly lighter or darker than your dress looks chic or be bold and wear colorful jewelry with your dress.  It’s your wedding day.  Have fun!

3.  To veil or not to veil.  Your wedding day is the only day in a woman’s life that it’s appropriate to wear a veil so take advantage of the moment and wear it!   There are so many veil options today you are bound to find one perfect for you and your dress.

4.  Does thinking about a headpiece make you stress?   Today’s bride has limitless options for headpieces.  There are tiaras, combs, floral clips, rhinestone clips, hair ribbons.  Take this opportunity to try on one of the many options and find the one that’s right for you.

5.  Sometimes a woman needs some bling.  It’s your wedding day and all eyes (let alone several cameras) are going to be on you.  This is not the day to skimp.   This is the day to allow yourself that sparkly earring or crystal necklace or classic pearls.

6.  Wear beautiful shoes for the ceremony and have practical dancing shoes for the reception.  No one thinks their shoes will show up in photos but they will especially if they are not cute.  Remember to add shoe pads so your feet feel their best.

7.  Don’t forget a purse.  Most women carry a purse every day and you will want one on your wedding day.  Don’t let the photographer catch you lugging your usual bag around.  Pick up a cute clutch and the next friend who gets married let her borrow yours as her something borrowed.

8.  Sashes are your waistline’s best friend.  Today’s hottest bridal trend is sashes.  Like headpieces they have tons of options ranging from simple ribbons to rhinestones to elaborate handmade flowers.   Which one is right for your dress is up to you.
