Just last week I mentioned our Katey Angelic as she modeled gowns from Justina McCaffrey's "Angelic Paradisium" collection and then she walks in to work today dressed as an angel. Katja stopped by to show off her Biker Babe look and I just loved the contrast of the mother/daughter duo and had to blog it!

Tip Off With Bo
Laura and I just returned from an evening of fashion and basketball - the UW Badger Booster fund raiser - Tip Off With Bo. We were both excited when we were approached months ago to provide fashions for the runway show and it was really neat to see it all come together at this good-natured event. I tried taking some photos of the runway show but was generally unsuccessful - below is my best effort. However, Laura snapped a picture of all of the models - wives of support staff - and you can see that everyone looked amazing! We had several Lynn Lugos and two Badgley Mischkas on stage and they were very well received, but the real show stopper was "Citrine" by Janet Nelson Kumar. It didn't hurt that "Citrine" was paired with a $50,000 necklace from the Diamond Center.
The silent auction is always a big hit during this event and we can't wait to find out who the successful bidder was on the Lynn Lugo dress we donated to their silent auction.
As a final note, I just want to thank Laura for all of her effort tonight as I basically acted only as chauffeur - your continuing commitment to make us the best bridal boutique is totally appreciated.

Katey Angelic
The other day I was trying to put together a reminder postcard about our awesome Justina McCaffrey trunk next weekend when I realized I didn't have any photos of the "Angelic Paradisium" collection that would work in print. So Laura and I thought since we already have some of the dresses we would just throw one on Katey and snap a couple of pictures ourselves. Considering that we had no special lighting, a simple 3.1 megapixel point and shoot digital camera and no real photographic skills, we were very pleased with how incredible beautiful Katey ended up looking in "Jaime" - now that's a sign of great design!

Justina McCaffrey Trunk Show
We are really excited about our Justina McCaffrey trunk show coming up November 2 & 3 featuring the "Angelic Paradisium" collection - one of her best ever. We have already received four of the gowns - Jaime, Bernadine, Joanna and Angelic - all of which are absolutely beautiful, signature-look Justinas. Once we receive the entire collection we will decide which of them are worthy of being added to our permanent collection and we would love to know what you think.

New Designer for 2008 at Premiere Couture
Laura and I were so excited to see the collection of unique hair accessories and veils from Sara Gabriel that we both instantly knew she would be a perfect addition to our elite group of designers. Sara herself is so fresh and energetic - as are her designs - that she would make the perfect subject of her own reality show on cable. I've posted a couple of pics of her fixing some of her creations into Rachel's (one of Sara's cohorts) glorious red hair. Everything looks great in Rachel's hair! We should start receiving the new pieces in several weeks and we'll also be hosting a trunk show - possibly with Sara herself!

Exciting Caroline DeVillo Event!
It's a bit early to announce, but I just can't help myself. November 16 & 17 we are hosting a Caroline DeVillo trunk show and while that in and of itself is neat, what will be really great is the Thursday night before the trunk show. We are going to have a runway show featuring Caroline's Spring 2008 collection with Caroline herself acting as emcee! We're in the midst of making all of the arrangements (we still need a model or two if you're interested) and invitations will go out in a week or two. If you want to make sure you're invited, please e-mail me.

"The Art of Weddings" is a success!!
Thank you to everyone who attended and assited with our event - it was a huge success!! I was unable to attend (and completely bummed by that), but Laura kept it all together and when it wasn't busy she snapped a few photos for us which I have posted here. I want to specially thank Katey, Katja, Liz and Beth for lending us their beauty for the evening. Thank you to the other businesses whose contribution made for a memorable evening: Front Room Photography, Rejuvenation Spa, Fleming's Steakhouse, The Flower Market and David Flood.
Front Room's photos look spectacular. They are part of our permanent collection so stop by and see them any time!
Our beautiful "live mannequins" drew a lot of attention!
David Flood did a wonderful job creating a pleasant atmosphere with his original guitar compositions. He's available to play music for your ceremony; you can call us for more information.
Katey, our new employee was not only a model but one of the artists! She created the sandwich board signs for us. You can look forward to seeing more of her signs in the future.
Beth, Katey, Liz and Katja
Even Beth's dog knows beauty when he sees it!

Sneak Peak at 2008
Laura and I just returned from Chicago where we were treated to an exquisite evening with Caroline DeVillo as she unveiled her Spring 2008 bridal collection. The atmosphere of the evening was perfect with Caroline's classic designs set against a back drop of Audrey Hepburn movies. I am in the process of putting together a thorough review, but I thought I would post a picture to whet your appetite.
"The Art of Weddings"
We are hosting a fantastic event this Friday evening during Gallery Night celebrating "The Art of Weddings" and we hope you'll join us. There will be live models - one of whom is our very own new employee Katey - in our windows instead of the usual mannequins. (We've always wanted to give that a try!) Rejuvenation Spa is going to have some creative fun with our models' hair and make-up - no ordinary up-dos on this night! Front Room Photography has provided some marvelous enlargements from our recent photo shoot that's featured all over our website - they truly live up to the promise of capturing "The Art of the Moment." One of our lovely 2006 brides, Jamae, will be showing off floral arrangements from the Flower Market and Fleming's Steakhouse will be providing delicious hors d'oeuvres. To cap the evening off, my nephew, David Flood, will create the perfect ambiance with his original guitar music which is perfect for wedding ceremonies. He just turned 18 but you'd never know it from the level of maturity and professionalism that he brings to his music. It's all together possible that I may be just a bit biased, but if you come and listen, I think you'll agree.
And if all of that wasn't enough reason to attend, the first 25 brides of 2008 that attend will receive a special gift and special offers and everyone who attends will be eligible to win a $500 gift certificate that can be used for anything from Premiere Couture!
