We have the unique opportunity to offer to you the chance to get to know the designs of Adele Wechsler, a designer not typically available in our salon, during a trunk show next weekend. Her designs are original, simple but interesting, and she has a special emphasis on ecologically friendly designs that incorporate certified organic hemp/silk, vegetable dyed silks and fair trade
Laura snapped a few photos of some of the gowns that have already arrived while Julia was in yesterday. We're only showing fronts here, obviously, but Adele has an affinity for unique ornamentation which is often highlighted on some seriously fantastic backs - but you'll have to come in and check that out for yourself!

Lace and organza - a study in texture and design
New arrivals from Robert Bullock and Lea Ann Belter allow us the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the breadth of our price range (the gowns here range from $650 to $3685) and the ability of our designers to create beautiful texture and amazing interest with well chosen lace and organza.
On the left, Robert Bullock uses purposely placed layers of folded organza, lace and tulle to create the most flirty and whimsical short little bridal gown that we've ever seen. The center gown, also by Robert Bullock, uses cut and angled layers of organza, lace and tulle to create an infinitely flattering and sophisticated silhouette. And we're totally in love with the way that he decided to layer the organza over the lace of the skirt to produce incredibly soft texture. On the right, Tess by Lea Ann Belter is exquisite French Alencon lace over silk satin that hugs your curves while the small of your waist is accentuated with a narrow silk satin belt and the lace drips over the dreamy silk organza hem - it's like butter! The frosting on Tess's cake is Lea Ann's cut-to-measure fit that truly expresses her flawless craftsmanship.

Sophisticated sashes add shine and sizzle
We received three beautiful additions to our already extensive collection of custom sashes meant to enhance and personalize your bridal gown. Lea Ann Belter has applied her amazing design skills to this stunning trio of silk, ribbon and beaded lace belts. You can see that each of the belts completely changes the personality of Nancy, one of our favorite Caroline DeVillo designs. (Yes, you can absolutely mix and match your designers! In fact, Caroline herself offers an amazing collection of cleverly designed sashes!) Let us show you how sashes and belts can add a personal touch to your ensemble, effectively add just the right amount of shine or sparkle and do it all in an enormously flattering manner.

Thank you and bridal show recap
Laura and I truly enjoyed meeting friends old and new at the Wedding Planner & Guide Bridal Expo this past weekend. We appreciate all of the positive feedback on our runway fashions and those shown in our booth! "Vanessa" by Lea Ann Belter, "Melanie" by Lynn Lugo, "Fiore" by Janet Nelson Kumar and one of our spectacular metal taffeta designs from Nicole Miller were all particularly well received so I thought I would post some photos to help you remember what you saw and what you liked.
Metal Taffeta by Nicole Miller. We showed this on the runway with Amy Kuschel's marvelous applique double ribbon sash.
We also had the pleasure of introducing two new employees this weekend, Julia and Meghan, who did a truly fantastic job - thanks ladies!
A thank you is also in order for Aniu Salon and Spa for having three beautiful Caroline DeVillo gowns along with Sara Gabriel headpieces on display for the weekend in their booth - they truly looked wonderful!
We also had the pleasure of meeting a handful of our current Facebook fans and hopefully many of our future fans!

January is Julie & Julia and Journals
Laura and I are both fans of food and marriage (not necessarily in that order) so it seemed natural to feature Julie & Julia this month. And we've been having so much fun with free gifts-with-purchase that we decided to carry on with that theme and offer fantastic journals (we can't really give you a blog to write about your exploits!) with every dress purchased in January. With a bridal gown, you'll receive a truly special Recipes Cooking journal and a handy meal planner note pad for your fridge and with party and bridesmaid dresses, a smart, perfectly purse-sized Dining Out journal (because that's what so many of us actually do!).
